On re-releases and deluxe editions.

I share the same sentiment on the re-release idea. It is a very annoying trend. So yes, I sit out on buying albums on its first release, because of the possibility of it being re-released. Labels are basically shortchanging their artists’ fans. Also that store-specific release. It’s C-R-A-Z-Y.

On another note, I don’t get why albums have standard and deluxe editions. (I buy the deluxe, which is the reason I am very annoyed with the Philippine licensee of Sony Music because it tends to release only the standard edition.)

Then again, singles tend to have different versions of the songs… somehow similar idea there. My beef with labels regarding the singles is that they rarely sell these (and EPs) here.  Thank goodness singles and EPs are now available on iTunes. But even then, since buying digital music is my last resort, it’s still not a very good option.

Ramble, ramble, this is.
